Share your screen online, free and without signing up
Need to show someone a document, a website, a bug or a design right now? With Abeedesk you create a room in the browser, send the link and click Share screen. Nobody installs anything and nobody creates an account, not you and not the people you share with.
How to share your screen with someone
- Create a room. Open abeedesk.com on your computer, type a room name or use the suggested one, and select Start call.
- Send the link. Copy the address of the room and send it by email, chat or text message.
- Click Share screen. In the call controls, select Share screen, then choose a single window, a browser tab or your entire screen in the dialog your browser shows.
- Stop when you are done. Select Stop sharing and your camera comes back.
The other person just opens the link. They see your screen in their browser, on a computer or a phone.
What you get
- No account, no download, no extension. Screen sharing works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on computers.
- Sharp text. Abeedesk sends your screen with priority on detail, so code, spreadsheets and documents stay readable.
- Talk while you share. Your voice keeps going, and chat and the shared whiteboard stay available.
- Up to 4 people in a room, so you can show your screen to up to three others at once.
- Private by design. The screen goes directly to the other participants. Nothing is recorded or stored.
- A room password keeps others out once everyone has joined.
Good to know
- Sharing starts from a computer. Phones can join the call and watch a shared screen, but they cannot share their own screen in Abeedesk.
- Your screen replaces your camera while you share. Your microphone stays on.
- Computer sound is not shared. Abeedesk shares the picture only, which makes it great for documents and demos, but not for watching videos together.
- On a Mac, allow your browser to record the screen the first time: System Settings, Privacy & Security, Screen Recording (called Screen & System Audio Recording in recent macOS versions). Then restart the browser.
When people use it
- Helping family with a computer problem. They open your link and you can see exactly what they see when they share, or you show them the steps on your screen.
- Quick work reviews. Walk a colleague or client through a document, a design or a spreadsheet without booking a meeting.
- Tutoring. Share slides or an exercise, then switch to the whiteboard. See online tutoring.
- Technical interviews. A candidate shares their editor from a link with no account. See video interviews.

Questions people ask
Is screen sharing on Abeedesk really free?
Yes. There are no plans, no time limits and no sign-up. The site is supported by ads outside the call.
Do I need to download anything to share my screen?
No. Screen sharing is built into modern browsers, so a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on your computer is enough.
Can the other person control my computer?
No. Abeedesk only shows your screen. Nobody can click or type on your computer through it.
Can I share only one window instead of my whole screen?
Yes. When you select Share screen, your browser lets you choose a single window, a tab or the entire screen. Sharing one window is the safest choice, because notifications and other apps stay private.
